Carol Sherby

Carol specializes in helping others understand the energy dynamics of our bodies and how it affects the health and function of our own energy system. Carol earned her B.S. degree at Northern Michigan University in Education and her BCST certificate from the Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy Foundation. The 2 year certificate program evolved directly from the pioneering work of William Sutherland, D.O., innovator of cranial osteopathy. She is also trained in the Upledger technique from Upledger Institute in Craniosacral I and II and Somato Emotional Release I and II, and Reiki Master since 2000.

Carol, a health and wellness advisor, is passionate about Craniosacral Therapy (CST) and takes a holistic approach to healing. Integrating CST with diet and nutrition, Carol can guide you in understanding this life energy and how constrictions to nerve fibers can arise in response to physical injury, stress or emotional trauma. She will help you, through CST technique, achieve balance, promoting wellness in mind, body, and spirit.

Jon

Jon Castro

Jon is a licensed massage therapist since 2006 and was attuned as a Reiki Master/Teacher in 2007. Since then he has continued his education by studying additional modalities that Jon has found to increase his effectiveness as a facilitator for healing. The disciplines he trained in include Swedish, Deep Tissue, Trigger Point, Prenatal, Hot Stone and Esalen Massage, along with John F. Barnes Myofascial Release and Cranial Sacral Therapy from Sacred Journey Institute. Jon also uses techniques from Table Thai Massage.

Introduced to healing techniques when he was just 13 years old, Jon has since continued his journey in healing which only helps him assist his clients. For Jon, the process is a collaborative one where he doesn’t “fix” you, but helps you balance and heal. Jon’s goal is to create a safe nurturing space where he assists his clients achieve their wellness goals. Whether you are interested in restorative relaxation, therapeutic healing or looking to take your Pilates or Yoga practice to the next level; together, we can get you closer to your goal.

Katy

Katy Panek

Katy Panek is a 200hr RYT instructor with experience leading private and group yoga classes. She completed her studies and practices of traditional Thai Massage through the International School of Thai Massage.

Combining her yoga assisting and adjusting techniques with the traditional Thai Massage practice, Katy creates a passive yoga experience that leaves the client with a sense of peace for both the body and mind.

Katy is excited to offer these services at Mindful Movements.

Steeped in ayurvedic/yogic wisdom and healing practices, Thai Body Work was introduced into temples over 2,500 years ago. This therapy combines deep stretching, acupressure techniques and meditative breathing to give full body relaxation with many health benefits. In this “passive yoga” practice, the practitioner guides the client through a series of yoga postures; while palming and thumbing along energy (SEN) lines and pressure points of the body. Together, these actions result in a full body treatment that relieves muscular tension, improves circulation, boosts the immune system and balances that energetic body.

Thai Body Work is done on a floor mat with the client fully clothed in comfortable yoga style clothing to allow for movement and flexibility. No oils or lotions are used.

$60 for 60 minutes
$85 for 90 minutes
