Lisa Barker

Lisa began her yoga practice in 2004, to help balance her busy life as a mother of five. In 2016, she received her 200-Hour Foundation Yoga Teacher Training at Prairie Yoga in Lisle Illinois and in 2021 she completed 300-Hour Advanced Teacher Training at Moksha Yoga Center in Chicago, IL.  Lisa quickly found herself connecting with the pregnant yogis in her classes and felt a desire to explore the specific needs of the pregnant mind, body, spirit, and babies. She decided to continue her training and completed a 95-Hour Prenatal Yoga Advanced Teacher Training at Amala School of Prenatal Yoga. Lisa offers a safe space for pregnant students to calm the nervous system and build and restore a solid connection between mind, body, and baby. She is passionate about maternal and infant health and believes that yoga is one of the many ways to mindfully connect to your baby or babies during pregnancy and help foster a happy healthy birth experience! Lisa’s emphasis is on aligning the body, breath and mind and creating a welcoming atmosphere and supporting students of all abilities, whether novice or experienced, Lisa looks forward to seeing you on the mat, and sends love & light your way!
